Reception Classes - Earth Day

I speak for the trees...

Year 1 St Brigid and St Cecilia

Year 1 have been thinking about God's beautiful creation. We have explored the school grounds and collected natural objects such as fallen leaves, twigs, stones and feathers. We used these to make pictures of animals. We talked about how we can look after the wonderful world God has given us.

Year 5 - St Nicholas

On Earth Day, Year 5 took the opportunity to think about what sustainability means, and how we can live in harmony with nature, without destroying our natural world. They watched a brilliant David Attenborough video (link below), and collated a list of ideas as a class about how we can live more sustainably.

The whole class then created a collage of the Earth, and on templates of their hands, wrote the ideas that they had come up with - symbolising that they are going to care and look after our Earth through their actions.

How to Save Our Planet

This is the inspiring David Attenborough film that Year 5 watched before generating their own ideas for how to look after our Earth.

Sir David Attenborough explains how humans can take charge of our future and save our planet. What is Our Planet?
