In KS1 at OLQM the children can engage with the computing curriculum in a number of ways. Children regular have access to iPads and Chrome books and each classroom has Interactive whiteboards to support teaching and learning. Year One and Two children use a variety of software and online tools to develop their computing skills including, Espresso, Purple Mash and Google Classroom. We also use cross curricular software and online resources such as Numbots and TT Rockstars.
To support home learning and communication between parents, pupils and teachers our school uses Google Classroom. Weekly home work such as spellings are set on Google Classrooms by class teachers. Children and parents can regularly find find out about learning in school and celebrate with their child by looking at Google Classroom. Children are able to access Google Classroom in school to develop their skills within this tool.
In the event of a child or whole class being unable to attend school teachers will set assignments on Google Classroom. Children will be able to receive individually feedback from class teachers and parents will have the ability to ask teachers questions to help them support their child learning at home. In KS1 Google Classroom assignments will be used along side other web based activities such as Purple Mash, Espresso, White Rose Maths and Numbots. (Please see the above letter for further details).
